this race I’ve set to run
to keep the faith unto the end
from when I first begun

in learning all the word I can
Your mind revealed to me
a treasure of what wisdom holds
to be what I can be

full of God’s grace Your Spirit moves
to prompt me now and then
in carrying out Your choice desires
of being just a friend

for the way You’ve set before me
is rocky and is hard
but through it all You are my friend
of whom I show regard

together we exist as one
communion sweet and fair
in tender love we share our hearts
which nothing can compare

only the storms without may blow
in testing my resolve
but deep in faith I’ve placed my trust
in answers You can solve

for this way of life in Your care
a bright future will come
and Lord I want to finish well
from where I started from
